Judo is a Japanese sport focusing on using your opponent’s weight and strength against them. Judo provides a great physical and mental workout while developing and improving your balance, co-ordination and confidence through the implementation of throwing techniques, pins, arm locks, and choking techniques. Judo translated simply means “The gentle way.” This is due to the fact that it relies more on feel than brute strength. This is why a smaller person can defeat a bigger, stronger opponent.

BJJ promotes the concept that a smaller, weaker person can successfully defend against a bigger, stronger assailant by using leverage and proper technique

Like Judo, Brazilian Jiu jitsu (BJJ) is a sport that focuses on using your opponents strength and force against them using leverage, positioning and technique. BJJ’s origins stem from the Japanese Kodokan Judo which was introduced to the Gracie family in the early 1900’s in Brazil.

BJJ will help you get fit, strong, improve your core strength, have fun, use your brain and learn self defense all at the same time! It is one of the fastest growing sports.

KIDS & TEENS JUDO/ BJJ

We are passionate about teaching Judo/Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and firmly believe that learning the fundamentals of our favorite world sport has benefits for children that can improve their lives significantly. Our children’s program is designed to increase your child’s self-esteem and self-confidence in a fun, safe and active environment.

Our Judo for Teens class is for designed to teach self defence techniques and the sport of Judo while becoming fit, strong and healthy.

This class is a great way to develop friendships, have fun and increase your self-confidence which will decrease your chance of become a victim of bullying. Our Judo for Teens Program teaches basic Judo throws, takedowns, counter attacks and positioning skills in a fun, dynamic way that appeals to all teenagers.
